Bye Bradycardia, Bye!

It started with
formality in a cup of coffee,
innocence made it sweeter.
Sparks flying deep in our eyes,
love curling up into our smiles.

Respect and admiration began
talking to each other.
Desire and mischief made no effort
to shy away from conversation, either.

Then passion made a soft entry
and all diplomacy was lost
in the longing for one other.

Flirting in the shadows of long nights,
rolling in the embrace of our dreams,
stories giggled away to keep us company,
distance wondered why it was playing enemy.

Of course, technology was sweet enough
to play matchmaker on never ending nights
and peacemaker on frustrating work days.

But when our feelings have
come running, out of hiding,
when our dreams have been scripted
for a journey, we’ve to start soon.

And when all these are brushed aside,
the only one that remains is YOU.

You’re the diamond that twinkles in my eyes
and the aura hovering over my head.
You’re the reason I LOL like a child
and the one who’s cured my bradycardia.

You’re the cocktail that keeps me grooving
and the shot that leaves me reeling.
You’re the oxygen that keeps me running
and the cheerleader that leaves me gasping.

You’re the prayer I say every day,
‘God, keep me safe while I ride,
there’s a goddess I have to ride ’. (Ha ha)

You’re never going to move out of my dreams,
you’ve no intention of exiting my head.
You, you, you! What have you done?

And what have I done? Like they say,
to be the luckiest guy on the planet.
